POWERade Iceport
Interactive Design
One of the largest ice complexes in North America, the new POWERade Iceport will encompass 225,000 square feet. The facility is designed for hockey, figure skating & roller hockey. It is also the first privately funded facility of it's kind in the country. The $27 million arena is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2005.
When the Iceport came to us they wanted to get a site up that was strictly informational with Phase 2 focusing on the construction of the the complex and Phase 3 introducing registration for ice time and scoring updates for the leagues that will be playing at the facility.
Phase 1 was completed in September of 2002 on a very short timeline to help secure investors and inform the community about the project. Phase 2 began in December of 2003 with a full launch of the new site in March of 2004. Working along with Z2 Marketing + Design the site design began to focus on the directors that had signed on. Along with the new directors there were construction and news updates on the site.
With the facility running into financial problems, that have since been solved, the Web site was the most successful marketing piece the Iceport had. Iceport President Scott Branovan has praised the site on many occasions. The most rewarding experience was working with the "First Lady of Hockey" Manon Rheaume. The first woman to play professional hockey, Manon joined the Iceport in March of 2003 to direct the Girls Hockey Program. It has been quite interesting to work with a celebrity, and her accent always makes the meetings more fun!

Through their creativity and attention to detail we were able to produce an amazing site that help convey the new POWERade Iceport consumer brand.
