United Performing Arts Fund
Interactive Design
Each year, more than 30,000 individuals, corporations and foundations in greater Milwaukee support the UPAF annual campaign, making it one of the nation's largest united arts funds. In late 2001 Director of Marketing Dan DeWeerdt approached us with their new marketing campaign for the 2002-2003 season.
The new look was quite dramatic, but the focus of the site was on UPAF and not the look of the campaign. We also had to give equal play to the different members on the home page.
With that criteria in mind the home page was completely Flash based with a dynamic engine that pulled in images from the different members. The very clean and organized design featured news updates and links to their campaign materials. The site also featured a Flash calendar system that further supported their members with listings of different events and shows. And finally we implemented a content management system for them so they could make frequent updates to their campaign figures, calendar and news.
The site was recognized well in the community and became a model for many other art groups in Milwaukee. In late 2003 the site was moved back within UPAF. Since then the site has tried to mimic some of the functionality and grace of the original, but this version still seems to stand out the most.
