Advertising Design

These ads ran in 2002 to promote UPAF's new marketing campaign. The idea was a little silly but performed pretty well. The exciting part of the campaign was that it was released just around the time Flash 6 was. I can remember playing with the video aspects of the new release for hours that first weekend. The result was the ability to stream video into ads.

With a little version sniffing I soon found out that I could publish the file in version 5 yet call functions and abilities of 6 if the viewer had the updated player. Although Flash 6 was did not have a lot of market penetration we found that many of the visitors to the site saw the video version of the ad. We saw excellent click thrus and used the technology for some of the first Rich Media ads in the nation.
